PRESS RELEASE: LOCAL VFW MAKES DONATION TO PRAIRIE HOME HOSPICE & COMMUNITY CARE
Prairie Home Hospice & Community Care would like to recognize and thank the local Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post #742 for their recent donation!
The VFW gave a substantial donation towards our Annual Charity Event & Auction. A portion of this money is being used as matching funds towards this year’s ‘special ask’ that has been a long-standing tradition at the Event.
The special ask is an opportunity for individuals, businesses, or organizations to make a donation that goes directly towards a need within our organization. This year the special ask was for the purchase, installation, and replacement of the heating and cooling system at our Lockwood Hospice House. This is an unexpected, unplanned, and unbudgeted item which will help improve the environment for our patients.
Thanks to the VFW’s generous donation, and the very generous donations of many others, we were able to cover the cost of this very necessary system that keeps our patients, families and staff comfortable.
“I have now had the privilege of witnessing several years of ‘special ask’ donations in my position here at PHH, and every year I am astounded, to tears . . at the generosity of this community. There are just so many people that fully understand the importance of what we do, and the impact that we have on so many individuals and their families,” states Tara Plante, Marketing and Development Director at Prairie Home Hospice. “Our local VFW has been no exception, they have always been so generous to us, and our community. We are incredibly thankful.”
