MAY HE REST IN PEACE
Joel Todd Stefansen, born on May 15, 1961, in Tyler, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, at Avera Hospital in Marshall, Minnesota, after a brief battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He was 63 years old. No memorial services are planned at this time, but please leave the family a condolence or memory as they honor and remember Joel.
Adopted shortly after birth by Arnold and Jean (Faulds) Stefansen, Joel grew up in a loving home and graduated from Marshall High School in 1979. He spent much of his life as a truck driver, traveling extensively across the country before retiring in 2017. Following his retirement, he settled in Minneota, Minnesota, to be closer to family.
Joel was known for his sharp sense of humor and quick wit. If there was an opportunity to make a joke, Joel never missed it. A lifelong Green Bay Packers fan, he delighted in teasing Minnesota Vikings fans whenever he could. His humor and warmth left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Joel is lovingly remembered by his sons, Shane Stefansen (Jenn) of Woodlake, Shawn Stefansen of Taunton, Scott Stefansen (Brandi) of Taunton, Cory Stefansen of Sheboygan Falls, WI; his cherished grandchildren, Levi Stefansen (Kenzie), Savannah Stefansen, LilyAnn Stefansen, Aubrey Stefansen, Matthew Stefansen; his great-grandchild, Nellie Stefansen; and his sister, Jill (Greg) Landkamer of Wisconsin. Joel will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Jean Stefansen, and his sister, Sally Lenertz.
Joel’s memory will live on through the laughter he inspired and the love he shared with those around him. May his legacy bring comfort to all who knew him.
