Colleen Diane Remiger, age 69 of Wabasso, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025 surrounded by family at Prairie Home Hospice – Lockwood House in Marshall after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Colleen Diane (Bernardy) Remiger was born August 26, 1955 to Herbert C. and Marian M. (Penkert) Bernardy in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary Catholic Church in Seaforth. Colleen grew up on her family farm near Lucan and graduated from Wabasso Public School. On November 2, 1979, she married the love of her life John Remiger. Colleen worked at Integrity Bank Plus in Wabasso for 44 years. She was very active in the community through St. Anne Catholic Church and many other organizations including Red Cross Blood Drives and volunteering for WAFER for six years. Colleen enjoyed reading, playing cards and gardening. When she wasn’t tending to her flower garden, you could find her solving jigsaw and word puzzles. Colleen and John retired together, and they loved going on road trips and attending their grandchildren’s events.
Colleen is survived by her husband John; children: Josh (Nicole) Remiger of Elk River, Alison (Jeremy) Carlson of Sioux Falls, SD and Abby (Andrew) Dallmann of Marshall; grandchildren: Makayla, Taylor & Levi Remiger, Lindsay & Molly Carlson and Sara & Carter Dallmann; mother Marian Bernardy of Wabasso; siblings: Joyce (Scott) Goodyear, Sue (Keith) Cooreman, Bill (Val) Bernardy, Paul (Nellie) Bernardy and Ralph (Maria) Bernardy; several siblings-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, father-in-law, mother-in-law and sister-in-law Martha (Dick) Weber.
