Quality Coordinator
Job Description
Job Title: Quality Coordinator
Reports To: Clinical Director
Shift: Full-Time
Pay: $24-$28/hour (DOQ)
Profile
Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Quality Coordinator’s primary role is coordinating Quality functions including Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI), Compliance, Training, Infection Control, Emergency Management Programs, and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee quality assurance and compliance functions:
- Work Closely with Management Team to establish Quality Plans and Goals
- Monitor Quality Measures and provide monthly reports to CEO and Management Team
- Monitor and update policies, procedures, and regulatory updates
- Monitor and report on Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) surveys
- Develop, maintain, and execute organizational satisfaction surveys.
Oversee Employee Regulatory Training Programs:
- Work closely with Clinical Director and Management Team to establish an Annual Training Plan that:
- Meets licensing requirements
- Provides opportunities for training that ultimately benefit those we serve
- Provides opportunities for employees to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Utilizes Relias training platform
Oversee Infection Control Program, including Blood Borne Pathogens:
- Work closely with Clinical Director to ensure that infection control policies and procedures are implemented and followed according to plan at all facilities and among all employees
- Infection Control policies and procedures are communicated to and understood by employees
- Policies and procedures are clear
- Employees receive initial and annual training related to infection control
- Documentation is maintained related to patient and employee infections
- Infections are monitored, trends identified, and appropriate steps taken to control spread
- Maintain all records associated with infection control
- Infection Control policies and procedures are communicated to and understood by employees
Oversee Emergency Management Program (EMP):
- Ensure that Emergency Management Plan is reviewed and updated at least annually
- Ensure that Emergency Management Plan is implemented and followed
- Provide all staff an overview of plan and ensure that they have access to the plan for reference and/or review
- Ensure that all Supervisors and Managers have a sound understand of the role(s) they play in the plan
- Ensure that emergency preparedness actions are completed and document as per the EMP
- Manage upkeep of all emergency systems at all facilities and ensure required preventative maintenance and inspections are completed as required.
- Fire and sprinkler systems, emergency lights, call lights, fire extinguishers, smoke & carbon monoxide detectors, battery backups, etc.
- Coordinate all full-scale, functional, and training exercises for all facilities as required to meet compliance requirements
- Work closely with Management Team to develop and implement specific Emergency Plans that may be required in response to a specific emergency. i.e.: COVID-19 Emergency Response Plan
- Ensure that the plan adopted/approved is implement and followed and that all actions are well documented
- Ensure all Memorandums of Understanding are kept up to date and maintain open lines of communication with these providers and facilities
- Ensure that the plan is consistent with emergency guidance provided by regulatory/licensing agencies
- Ensure that the plan is communicated to staff, clients and family members as appropriate
Clinical Team Support Services:
- Assist with regular imaging of clinical documentation from facilities
Oversee compliance with OSHA Standards:
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA standards and requirements
- Review OSHA standards and requirements at least annually
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist with organizational awareness and branding efforts
- Participate in efforts to create a healthy work environment within Prairie Home Hospice, Inc.
- Assist with and participate in organization programs, events, fundraisers, etc. and contribute positively to the overall success of the organization
- Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as assigned
