Elisha Martius, age 40, of Marshall, Minnesota, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the Prairie Home Hospice – Lockwood House in Marshall, Minnesota.
Elisha Marie Hay was born on April 11, 1984, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Larry and Patricia (Whiting) Hay. Lisha was baptized as an infant and confirmed in her youth in the Christian faith. She grew up in Walnut Grove, Minnesota, until a move in the 3rd grade took her to Marshall. Lisha attended Samuel Lutheran grade school and then graduated from Marshall High School with the class of 2002. She went on to further her education where she studied to be an office secretary.
On September 25, 2010, Lisha was united in marriage to Benjamin Martius at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marshall. The couple made their home in Marshall and had two children, Eliana and Wyatt. They shared thirteen years of marriage together prior to her illness. Elisha worked in the office of Midwest Ag Supplements in Marshall where she primarily oversaw liquid feed.
Lisha was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marshall and her primary interest was spending time with her family and friends.
Lisha died under the care of Hospice on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, the Marshall, Minnesota. She had reached the age of 40 years, 3 months, and 13 days. Blessed be her memory.
Lisha is survived by her husband, Ben Martius of Marshall; 2 children, Eliana “Ellie” and Wyatt of Marshall; mother, Patty (and Lynn) Schaffran of Vesta; father, Larry (and Tonia) Hay of Zimmerman; parents-in-law, Rich & Deb Martius of Walnut Grove; 3 siblings, Taylor Hay of Sioux Falls, SD, Tiana Lentz of Echo, Hailey Schaffran of Vesta; sister-in-law, Staci (and Andy) Kleven of Slayton; grandparents, Henry & Mildred Hay of Tracy, William & Sharon Cregan of Zimmermann; nieces and nephews, Jaiden Hay of Sioux Falls, Alex Kleven of Slayton, Nate Kleven of Slayton, Lily Kleven of Slayton; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Tanner Lentz, and a cousin-in-law, Tim Sell.
