MARSHALL, MN
MAY HE REST IN PEACE
David Eisenberger, age 81, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Hendricks Community Hospital in Hendricks, Minnesota.
David Allen Eisenberger was born on May 7, 1943, in Kinzers, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Benjamin and Dorothy (Rynier) Eisenberger. David had a happy childhood growing up around family, friends, and sports. He was active in his church and the head pastor and Bible teacher, Clarence Lefever, had a dramatic influence on him over 26 years of instruction. David received Christ at age 18 and committed his life to the Christian faith.
David graduated from Pequea Valley High School in 1961 and went on to work for several years at RCA in Pennsylvania. In 1976 David made the move to Grand Marais, Minnesota, which was a perfect location for him as he loved long winters and enjoyed many trips to the Lutsen Mountains skiing. On January 12, 1993, David was united in marriage to Jean Doty at Harriet Park in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The couple continued to make their home in Grand Marais until a move in 2021 brought them to Marshall, Minnesota.
David worked for over 34 years as a lineman for a telephone company. He was also a long-time and faithful member of the Grand Marais Evangelical Free Church. David loved to travel and took many trips with his sister and brother-in-law, Dolly and David Fisher, and enjoyed yearly adventures with Jean to Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, and South Dakota visiting numerous family and friends. His other enjoyments in life included spending as much time as possible outdoors, over 25 years actively participating in a 500 card club, and staying involved in sports – even playing pickleball until he was 80 years old. He was a bit of a Craftsman and had a large role in building his three family homes, and David also was an avid nonfiction reader where he focused primarily on the Bible, American history, and World War II.
David Eisenberger died peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2024, in Hendricks, Minnesota. He had reached the age of 81 years, 2 months, and 29 days. Blessed be his memory.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jean Eisenberger of Marshall; 4 children, Rochelle Eisenberger of Vilas, NC, Wade Eisenberger of Newcastle, WY, Joey Wright of Marshall, Barry Wright of Jensen Beach, FL; 7 grandchildren, Erin Collins, Bowen Collins, Morgan Collins, Tristan Eisenberger, Gabriel Eisenberger, Jalen Dearring, Riley Dearring; sister, Delores (and Dave) Fisher; brother, Donnie (and Judy) Eisenberger; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
