Job Title: Dietary Aide: Fieldcrest Assisted Living
Reports To: Fieldcrest RN Case Manager
Shift: Full-Time, Part-Time
Profile
The Dietary Aide’s primary role is to provide Fieldcrest residents with nutritious, healthy, safe, well-balanced appealing meals throughout each of their days.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Cooking:
- Prepare, cook, and help serve healthy, safe, well tasting meals for all residents at our Fieldcrest Assisted Living Facility.
- Follow menus, recipes, and procedures for all meals served to residents for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; seven days a week.
- Help with inventory, ordering, storage organization, shopping, menu planning, and meal preparations.
- Maintain and promote clean, safe, healthy, welcoming working conditions and atmosphere in the kitchen, storage areas, and dining hall at Fieldcrest.
- Help lower and/or maintain adequate food costs.
- Promote and welcome open communication with other dietary staff.
- Work cohesively with clinical staff at Fieldcrest to assure residents are always cared for at a high level of respect and kindness.
Compliance, Documentation & Reporting:
- Acquire a sound working understanding of regulatory/compliance policies and procedures.
- Follow all policies and procedures established by Prairie Home Hospice and assist in ensuring that Prairie Home Hospice is meeting or exceeding all state, federal, and industry standards for assisted living and hospice care as it relates to compliance and regulations.

Other Responsibilities Include:
- Communicating residents’ wants, needs, and preferences.
- Communicating equipment, facility, storage, and maintenance needs etc.
- Participating in efforts to create a healthy work environment within Prairie Home Hospice.
- Participate in and support Prairie Home Hospice programs, events, fundraisers, etc., and make every effort to contribute positively to the overall success of the organization.
- Providing input and feedback to management in efforts to provide quality care, compassionate service, and a positive, healthy work environment across the organization.
- Completing educational requirements necessary to maintain licensure and/or skills and knowledge necessary to successfully carry out job duties as assigned.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.
- Arrives on time as scheduled for work shifts and/or patient visits.
- Timely documentation temperatures, accidents, injury, illness etc.
- Attend quarterly staff meetings and trainings as assigned.
